Our Story
The firm now known as Ruesch Reeve Werrett & Jones, PLLC was first organized in December 2009 by attorney Benjamin Ruesch, a Hurricane native. Ben's founding vision was straightforward: give Hurricane Valley residents access to quality legal representation right here in the community — without needing to drive to St. George every time they had a legal question.
At the time, Hurricane Valley was in a period of rapid growth. Ben recognized that the community's legal needs were expanding alongside its population. He saw an opportunity to build a firm rooted in Hurricane that could serve Southern Utah with the depth and experience typically found in larger cities.
The founding vision, articulated in a 2010 press release announcing the firm's opening, was simple: Hurricane Valley had grown rapidly over the prior decade, and residents deserved access to quality legal help without a drive to St. George.
Not long after the firm's founding, Nathan C. Reeve — also a Hurricane High School graduate and longtime friend of Ben's — joined as founding partner. The firm became Ruesch & Reeve, PLLC, and the shared local roots of the founding partners became a defining feature of how the firm operated: as neighbors, not outsiders.
Two Founding Partners. One Hometown.
Both Ben Ruesch and Nathan Reeve grew up in Hurricane, Utah — and both graduated from Hurricane High School. When you meet with our founding partners, you're meeting attorneys who know Southern Utah because they grew up here.
A Firm That Grew with Southern Utah
Over the past 16 years, the firm has expanded steadily, adding attorneys who brought specialized expertise while preserving the local, accessible character Ben and Nathan established at the outset.
Ben Ruesch establishes the practice, serving Washington County and surrounding areas.
The firm becomes Ruesch & Reeve, PLLC. Both partners bring shared Hurricane High School roots.
Ben Ruesch secures preliminary injunctions in federal court protecting Southern Utah families from foreclosure — including a ruling by Senior U.S. Judge Bruce Jenkins.
Ben wins a District Court case for a Harley-Davidson owner whose motorcycle was sold without permission. Nathan wins a fraud, identity theft, and negligence case for plaintiffs in District Court.
Ben is admitted to practice law in Arizona. The American Institute of Legal Counsel recognizes him as one of Utah's 10 Best for Client Satisfaction — for two consecutive years.
Tony G. Jones, Anthony P. Werrett, Travis Dunsmoor, and Debra Stillman join, bringing depth in bankruptcy, civil litigation, personal injury, and Cedar City-area practice.
Anthony P. Werrett and Tony G. Jones are elevated to named partner. The firm becomes Ruesch Reeve Werrett & Jones, PLLC.
